Meeting place between historical heritage and contemporary creation since 1998, the CIAC (Centre international d’art contemporain) has taken over one of the oldest castles in the region, at Carros-Village (20 minutes’ drive from the international Airport of Nice-Côte d’Azur). It re-opened in 2010 after a second period of restoration and it now offers precious ornamental vestiges dating mostly from the 17th Century.
During all the year it offers temporary exhibitions and a selection of its permanent collection, reflecting the creation on the French Riviera during the last decades. It’s a place for international cultural exchanges whose aim is to help new artists to be discovered and to re-explore the history of art through theme exhibitions.
Guided tours and workshops are organized on appointment by the department of public. An important documentary resource is accessible on-the-spot in the library.
